Rush & Sabbatino founding partners Claire F. Rush and Francesca A. Sabbatino were invited by The New York City Womens Chamber of Commerce and the South Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation (SOBRO) in partnership with Turner Construction Company to lead the legal presentation for the fall 2011 Turner School of Construction Management training course in the Bronx. This course is offered to small, minority, and women-owned construction businesses in order to facilitate the development of business relationships between Turner and these traditionally under represented groups.
A panel of legal experts was assembled who addressed various legal issues emerging contractors must face. Claire Rush acted as the moderator and lectured on issues pertaining to limitations on liability. Francesca Sabbatino advised the attendees about issues relating to contractual indemnification and insurance coverage and how to respond to workplace accidents. Judith Maxwell of Russo, Keane and Toner spoke on the issue of Surety Bond litigation and George Sitaris, Esq addressed how to deal with legal issues relating to payment and performance.
